Alex Cerveniak is a northern Michigan based writer/photgrapher who enjoys writing about/taking pictures of pretty much everything, but especially people and places in the outdoors.
He is the Editor-in-Chief for a website/magazine from Jay’s Sporting Goods, an editor-at-large at Hatches Magazine, and a former editor at MidCurrent.
As a freelance writer/photographer, Alex continues to contribute to various fly fishing publications– both in print and electronic– most notably, The Drake magazine.
He has been, and continues to be hired to photograph large events ranging from charity fundraisers to weddings, and has dabbled in real estate and portrait photography.
Alex has been awarded with three Fly Tier of the Year awards from flytyingforum.com, and enjoys teaching the art of fly tying to students both young and old.
Alex has an A.S. in Environmental Science, and is an active member at his local chapter of Trout Unlimited, where he serves as its Publications Committee Chairman. He is also the chapter’s Michigan State Trout Unlimited Chapter Representative.
He enjoys fly fishing, fishing, hunting, reading, photography, writing, conservation, greasy pizza you have to fold to pick up, and his wife’s pineapple upside-down cake.
